On the morning of July 1, Ji Gaojie, Deputy Director of the Academy of Agricultural Planning and Engineering under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs (AAPE, MARA), led a delegation to conduct field research at Yafei Seed. The group went deep into the company’s frontline sites to learn about the current development of the seed industry. They held exchanges and discussions focusing on key work including industrial layout, project planning, variety R&D, and whole industrial chain quality upgrading. The delegation accurately identified bottlenecks and difficulties restraining corporate development, offered targeted advice and support to fuel the high-quality growth of the enterprise and boost quality and efficiency of modern seed industry.

The research team successively visited the molecular breeding laboratory and breeding fields, and inspected the progress of core links such as seed production and multiplication of Broccoli, new variety breeding, molecular detection and phenotypic identification. Afterwards, a special forum was held by both sides. He Yafei, General Manager of Yafei Seed, together with persons-in-charge of all departments, reported on job responsibilities and phased work achievements item by item. They sorted out prominent challenges in production, scientific research, marketing, infrastructure construction and project application, and carried out in-depth discussions with the delegation.

Based on the company’s actual development status, Ji Gaojie put forward systematic development ideas and targeted cooperation solutions. First, deepen layout in segmented tracks, accurately assess development prospects of segmented crop sectors, unify internal corporate development plans, and clarify functional positioning and development directions for all posts. Second, establish a tiered cooperation mechanism: sign technical consulting contracts in the initial stage to provide targeted project planning and application guidance; roll out special technical service cooperation in line with the enterprise’s development demands in the follow-up phase. Third, coordinate resource and talent empowerment. Leveraging the platform strengths of AAPE, integrate high-quality resources covering scientific research, industries and policies, launch professional talent training, and pool joint forces for corporate growth.

This research thoroughly targeted pain points across Yafei Seed’s full industrial chain covering breeding, seed multiplication, market operation, project construction and internal management, and delivered solutions and clear development directions from multi-dimensions of policy, technology, planning and administration. He Yafei stated that Yafei Seed will earnestly absorb and implement the guidance put forward during this research. Centered on the national strategy for vitalizing the seed industry, the company will rely on its core strengths in vegetable breeding, optimize the R&D management system, accelerate the construction of streamlined processing facilities and high-throughput breeding platforms, and precisely plan the application for special seed industry projects under the 15th Five-Year Plan. Meanwhile, Yafei Seed will continuously deepen collaborative innovation between enterprises and research institutes, optimize variety layout in segmented crop tracks, perfect the national service system for improved seed promotion, steadily lift independent breeding innovation capacity, fully guarantee independent and controllable vegetable germplasm resources, and contribute to quality and efficiency improvement of regional modern agriculture.

Going forward, Yafei Seed will build a regular and long-term communication and collaboration mechanism with the Academy of Agricultural Planning and Engineering, MARA. Supported by professional planning expertise, the company will continuously strengthen and refine its featured vegetable seed industry.
