On March 21, Mr. He Yafei, General Manager of Wuhan Yafei Seed Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as 'Yafei Seed'), together with teachers Wang Haiping and Ji Shengmei from Hubei Biocology Vocational College (hereinafter referred to as 'the College of Biology'), specially invited Mr. Gao Guangjin, a national model worker, to share the 'Spirit of National Model Workers' with the students of the College of Biology. It was hoped that the students would find their life goals, inherit the 'Spirit of Model Workers', make achievements in their upcoming careers and realize self-growth.

At the sharing session, Mr. Gao Guangjin explained the essence of the contemporary spirit of model workers to the students: firm ideals and beliefs, taking national rejuvenation as their own responsibility; the ownership spirit of loving their jobs and dedicating to the country and people; the enterprising spirit of striving for excellence and keeping pace with the times; the fighting spirit of hard work and pioneering; the pioneering spirit of daring to innovate and continuously improving; the 'old ox' spirit of indifferent to fame and wealth and working quietly; the selfless spirit of being willing to contribute and serve.

Starting from rural frontline work, Mr. Gao made steady progress step by step, solved many practical field crop planting and production technical problems for rural mountainous areas, and helped farmers solve food and clothing issues. His life path was to love and delve into whatever career he took, and strive to become an expert... In his work, Mr. Gao summarized a great deal of practical experience, published many professional popular science books and academic papers, and received awards, encouragement and care from leaders at national, provincial and municipal levels. After retiring in 2015, Mr. Gao still worked on the agricultural frontline, and conducted a lot of exploration and summarization on the planting techniques of Yafei Seed's vegetable varieties.

Based on his own experience, Mr. Gao set four life benchmarks for the graduating students: being ordinary, dedicated to work, diligent in learning, and willing to be a ladder for others. He shared his diligent and down-to-earth life from these four aspects.

In the training session, Mr. Gao said earnestly: 'Read ten thousand books and travel ten thousand miles. Your internship at Yafei Seed is practice, reading the 'wordless book'.' He warned the students that 'academic degree ≠ level ≠ ability. If theoretical knowledge cannot solve farmers' practical problems, it is just a castle in the air. You are now at a critical stage of learning and practice, so do not waste your precious youth.'

Through the communication with Mr. Gao, many students were deeply touched and truly realized how a 'model worker' with the real 'Spirit of Model Workers' who kept climbing to the peaks of the agricultural field was forged. Mr. Gao's sharing set a lofty image of continuous struggle for the students. It was believed that in their future graduation and career paths, by learning from Mr. Gao's life experience and carrying this spiritual wealth, the students could also create a world of their own.
