On January 14, He Yafei, General Manager of WUHAN YAFEI SEED CO., LTD., visited the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Zhejiang University, to host the 2025 'Yafei Seed Scholarship' award ceremony and delivered a special report titled New Opportunities in Seed Industry, New Tracks for Youth, deepening university-enterprise cooperation and nurturing young talent for the agricultural sector.

As an important link for collaborative education between university and enterprise, the Yafei Seed Scholarship and Teaching Award at the College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Zhejiang University, was established and funded by WUHAN YAFEI SEED CO., LTD. in November 2017. The program focuses on dual goals: agricultural talent development and scientific research innovation. It encourages full-time undergraduate students majoring in Horticulture and master’s and doctoral students at the Institute of Vegetables to study diligently and develop comprehensively, reserving young talent for agricultural research. It also honors outstanding teachers in teaching and research at the Institute of Vegetables, helping to improve academic and research capabilities, and building a platform for in-depth university-enterprise cooperation in talent training and scientific research.

The 2025 scholarship selection was conducted strictly in accordance with the Selection Rules for Yafei Seed Scholarship and Teaching Award, College of Agriculture and Biotechnology, Zhejiang University. After rigorous evaluation including online application, public defense presentation, and professional review by the committee, the list of awardees was finalized. At the ceremony, He Yafei had in-depth exchanges with teachers and students. In his special report, he combined industry trends and corporate practical experience to interpret new opportunities and career tracks in agriculture, helping students better understand the value of the agricultural sector, clarify career directions, and inspire enthusiasm for engaging in agricultural research and industrial development.
