In 2019, Asia-Africa provided free weather index insurance for 30,000 mu of Asia-Africa broccoli and cabbage planted by nearly 1,000 vegetable farmers in Hubei. The rains during the rainy season caused heavy losses to some vegetable farmers. After the approval of PICC P&C Hubei branch, a total of more than 900,000 yuan was paid. Hu Yongping, a large vegetable grower in Jiukou Town, Zhongxiang City, received a weather insurance compensation payment of more than 35,000 yuan, and was one of the growers who received a higher compensation payment this time. The compensation of the vegetable weather index insurance solves the urgent need for seed preparations for the new year.

Asia-Africa cooperated with the People’s Insurance Company of China. When farmers who purchased insurance suffered natural disasters and reduced their output, they passed the inspection of the People’s Insurance Company of China. This provides a "reassurance" for farmers who want to eat from the sky, guaranteeing the income of vegetable farmers to a certain extent, and reducing the worries of farmers' friends.

So far, Wuhan Ya-African Seed Industry Co., Ltd. has provided free weather index insurance to growers of Asian-African series of broccoli and Asian-African Wangwang series of cabbage in Hubei. This compensation payment has been paid directly to the farmer’s bank card by the People’s Insurance Company of China.

This compensation is an insurance indemnity paid due to rainy weather, which has reached the trigger value agreed in the PICC’s commercial vegetable weather index insurance clauses. High-yielding and high-efficiency vegetable varieties such as orchids and cabbage.
